We hope that this initial information finds you and your family in good health. Our communities have been through a lot over the past few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal routines We would like to thank you for your patience and continued support during this period of temporary practice closure. When you come for your next appointment, you will notice a few changes across the practice. We would like to reassure you, that WE HAVE ALWAYS PUT YOUR SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OUR DENTAL TEAM FIRST. Infection prevention has always been a top priority in our practice and we have always maintained high standards by following all infection prevention guidelines and protocols from all relevant Healthcare bodies, including Public Health England and Care Quality Commission. Due to the emergence of Covid-19, we have implemented additional protocols and procedures to help protect everyone at the practice.

We greatly appreciate your co-operation whilst we implement new processes at the practice, which are aimed at minimising the risk of Covid-19 transmission.
Due to the new measures we had to adopt, we can only offer limited number of appointments each day in a manner that promotes social distancing, as well as allowing adequate time to carry out additional measures in order to minimise cross-infection.
We prioritise:

- Patients with emergency and/or urgent dental needs

- Patients with incomplete treatment prior to lockdown

- Patients with cancelled appointments due to lockdown

- Patients with urgent periodontal (gum) disease, who usually require longer treatment.
WE WOULD BE GRATEUL IF YOU USE EMAIL US WHERE POSSIBLE (INSTEAD OF TELEPHONING). ALSO DO NOT COME TO THE PRACTICE UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN ASKED TO DO SO BY OUR STAFF.

OUR EMAIL IS:
reception@stephenhousedental.co.uk
We will carry out a pre-attendance assessment (Triage) when you call us or we call you to book your appointment. This will be a telephone conversation with our receptionist to assess your coronavirus infection risk. If necessary, our clinician – Dr Aslani may also carry out a telephone/video consultation with you to assess and treatment plan any dental problem(s) you may have. This will help us provide you with the most appropriate appointment to restore and maintain your dental health.

Practice will call you to confirm your appointment again a day before you arrive at the practice. Practical instructions on what you need to do when you arrive at the practice will be given to you before you attend. Please attend the practice unaccompanied, if possible.

Up on arrival at the surgery (first floor)

  • Please follow instructions to wash your hands (displayed on the wall near the entrance on the first floor)

  • Take a seat (chair is placed in the landing in front of the surgery entrance

  • Complete the forms with your own pen whilst waiting.

  • Receptionist will measure your temperature with a non-contact thermometer. She will then usher you into the clinic room

Clear screen had been installed on the reception desk to minimise exposure of our staff of any airbourne  contaminants. Negative air-pressure systems had also been installed in the practice to improve decontamination and improve the air quality for all patients and staff.

WE STRONGLY URGE YOU ATTEND YOUR APPOINTMENT WITH AS LITTLE PERSONAL BELONGINGS AS POSSIBLE. Our front door will remain open and we cannot accept liability for personal items.

You will notice that the practice may appear to be quite bare when you attend. We have temporarily removed magazines and other reading material from our waiting area, since these items are difficult to clean and disinfect. In line with our standard infection prevention protocols, additional disinfection and decontamination of all clinical and common areas, will be carried out as per our standard operatiing procedure.
For all treatments, you will be seen by team members wearing full personal protective equipment (PPE) in line with current guidance. We have no intention of being antisocial, but to minimise the risk of cross infection, we will not be shaking your hands. Whilst these measures may make us appear impersonal and distant, please be assured - we are still the same friendly dental team !
Once the clinician completes the procedure, you will be asked to see the receptionist to finalise your visit, pay for the services received and re-book your next appointment.

We are grateful and thank you for your continued support.
